Asparagus for starter. . .


Something new for me today - asparagus! I spotted some in the Fairlop Waters Farm Shop at a very reasonable price when calling there to buy fruit to freeze in boxes. Linda met me there and afterwards we went to the garden centre to buy more plants - I went for succulents for Heather and myself.

Linda told me how to cook asparagus the Jamie way so I looked it up and did the preparation, with oil, salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice. Ten minutes in the oven and they were - delicious! I have more for another evening. I am not an adventurous cook but I will go for asparagus again.

And nine boxes of fruit are in the freezer for my evening puddings!
